Architecture Review

System design review: current state, components, data flow, tech debt, and proposed changes.

A complete 10-slide sample deck. The companies and figures in it are invented — slide-deck.io writes the same structure around your own topic, your brand colours and your data, and exports it as an editable .pptx.

  1. Architecture review: the ingestion pipeline
    1

This is a review of a system that works. The question is not whether to keep it but where it will break next.

  2. What we are reviewing and why now
    2

Growth plus incident history plus new demand. Any one of these alone would not justify a review.

  3. The system as built
    3

Spend real time on this slide. Half the people in the review have never seen the whole pipeline in one picture.

  4. How it performs today
    4

The system is not failing. Say so plainly, or the review will be heard as an argument for a rewrite.

  5. Volume has outgrown the original headroom
    5

We cross the design ceiling in the first half of next year. That date, not any incident, is what makes this urgent.

  6. The four structural weaknesses
    6

Partition skew is the one that will page someone first. The other three are slower-moving but harder to fix later.

  7. What we propose, in priority order
    7

The first two are the ones to fund now. The rest can wait a quarter without the risk profile changing much.

  8. What we considered and rejected
    8

Showing the rejected options is what makes the accepted ones credible. Do not skip this slide for time.

  9. What we are not changing
    9

Naming what stays is how you keep a review from turning into a rewrite proposal.

  10. What we need from this review
    10

The ownership question is the only genuinely open one. If it is not settled here it will stall the schema work for a month.
