Terms of Service

1. Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Morton Technology Consulting LLC ("slide-deck.io," "we," or "us") governing your use of the slide-deck.io service, including the website, API, and all related software ("Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Service Description
slide-deck.io is a web-based presentation generation tool. It uses large-language-model AI (currently Anthropic's Claude API) to generate slide content, layouts, and speaker notes based on your prompts and connected data sources. You can export presentations as PPTX files or share them via a link. The Service runs on Cloudflare's global network.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice. We will not be liable for any such modification, suspension, or discontinuation.
3. Accounts
You must provide accurate registration information and keep your account credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@slide-deck.io if you suspect unauthorized access. You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to create an account.
4. User Obligations
4.1 Permitted Use
You may use the Service for lawful purposes to create, edit, export, and share presentations. Commercial use is permitted on paid plans.
4.2 Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Generate content that is illegal, defamatory, obscene, or infringes third-party intellectual property rights.
- Use the Service to create or distribute spam, phishing materials, or malware.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or exfiltrate the Service's source code, AI models, or infrastructure.
- Circumvent rate limits, authentication, or any security control.
- Resell or sublicense access to the Service without our written permission.
- Submit content that contains personal data of third parties without their consent.
- Use the API in a way that violates Anthropic's usage policies.
4.3 Enforcement
Violation of Section 4.2 may result in immediate account suspension or termination without refund. We reserve the right — but not the obligation — to review content for policy violations.
5. Intellectual Property
5.1 Your Content
You retain all intellectual property rights in the content you upload, the prompts you write, and the presentations you create using the Service ("User Content"). We claim no ownership over your User Content.
5.2 License to Us
You grant slide-deck.io a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, transmit, and display your User Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you. This license terminates when you delete the content or close your account.
5.3 AI-Generated Output
The presentations generated by the Service are derived from your prompts and your data. We do not assert copyright in AI-generated slide content. You are responsible for ensuring that AI-generated output does not infringe third-party rights before publishing or distributing it.
5.4 Our IP
The Service, including its design, software, trademarks, and documentation, is owned by slide-deck.io and protected by intellectual property law. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to our IP beyond the right to use the Service as described here.
6. Billing and Subscriptions
6.1 Plans
The Service is offered on free and paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed monthly or annually in advance. Plan features and pricing are described on the pricing page and are subject to change with 30 days' notice.
6.2 Payment
Payment is processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis. If a payment fails, we may suspend your account after a reasonable grace period.
6.3 Refunds
Monthly subscriptions are non-refundable for the current billing period. Annual subscriptions may receive a prorated refund for unused full months if cancelled within 14 days of renewal. Free plan users are not charged and receive no refund. Refund requests must be sent to billing@slide-deck.io.
6.4 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Your data remains accessible until that date; after that, free plan limits apply.
6.5 Taxes
Prices are exclusive of applicable taxes. You are responsible for any sales, use, VAT, or equivalent taxes in your jurisdiction.
7. Privacy
Our collection and use of your personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
8. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with third-party platforms (Google, Microsoft, HubSpot, Salesforce, Stripe, Anthropic). Your use of those platforms is governed by their own terms of service. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of third-party services.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY OF AI-GENERATED CONTENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SLIDE-DECK.IO AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, BUSINESS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $100.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless slide-deck.io from any claim, demand, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your User Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party right.
12. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally shall be submitted to binding arbitration in Leon County, Florida under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction. You waive any right to a class-action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will provide at least 14 days' notice before material changes take effect, by email or by a notice in the Service. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
