Media Kit Presentation Template
A media kit is the primary sales document for any brand, publisher, creator, or event seeking sponsorships, advertising partnerships, or content collaborations. It is reviewed by brand marketers, media buyers, and agency planners who are evaluating whether your audience matches their target customer.
A media kit that wins deals communicates three things clearly: who your audience is, how engaged they are, and what partners can expect to pay and receive. A media kit that buries these facts in brand story and lifestyle photography loses deals to competitors who make the buyer's job easier.
Who Uses a Media Kit
- Podcasters and YouTube creators seeking sponsorship packages
- Newsletters and digital publishers selling advertising and sponsored content
- Bloggers and social media influencers pitching brand collaboration deals
- Industry events and conferences selling sponsorship tiers
- Trade associations and membership organizations selling advertising in their publications and events
- Media companies and local news outlets pitching national advertisers
Slide Structure
Slide 1: Brand Cover
Your name, logo, tagline, and a single high-quality image that represents your brand aesthetic. The cover sets the visual tone for the entire document. Use your brand colors and typography consistently — media kits that look generic signal a brand that lacks visual identity.
Slide 2: Who We Are
A brief brand story (3-5 sentences) covering:
- What you cover and why
- How long you have been publishing/producing/creating
- What makes your perspective or community distinctive
- One sentence on your mission
This is not a biography — it is a positioning statement that explains why your audience trusts you.
Slide 3: Audience Overview
The most important slide in the deck. Present the data that marketers actually use to evaluate fit.
Demographics:
- Total audience size (be specific about the channel — podcast downloads, newsletter subscribers, social followers are all different audiences)
- Geographic distribution (% US, top markets)
- Age distribution
- Gender distribution
- Household income (if available through surveys or platform data)
- Job titles and industries (particularly important for B2B audiences)
Audience source: First-party survey data is most credible. Platform analytics are acceptable. If you are using estimated data, say so — buyers who discover undisclosed estimates will question everything else.
Slide 4: Reach and Engagement Metrics
Show performance metrics by channel:
| Channel | Metric | Value | Trend | |---|---|---|---| | Podcast | Monthly downloads | 180,000 | +22% YoY | | Newsletter | Subscribers | 42,000 | +18% YoY | | Newsletter | Open rate | 48% | vs. 21% industry avg | | Instagram | Followers | 95,000 | | | Instagram | Engagement rate | 4.2% | vs. 1.8% industry avg |
Always benchmark your metrics against industry averages. An open rate of 35% means nothing without context; 35% versus a 21% industry average signals a highly engaged audience.
Slide 5: Past Partners
A logo wall of brands that have previously partnered with you. Group by category if helpful. If you are newer and have limited partner history, show the types of brands you have worked with informally or through affiliate relationships.
Include two to three brief case studies:
- Partner name and campaign objective
- Format used (host-read ad, sponsored content, newsletter dedicated send, event activation)
- Key results (reach, clicks, conversions, promo code redemptions)
Partners care more about whether previous sponsors saw results than about who the previous sponsors were.
Slide 6: Partnership Packages
Present your standard packages with clear pricing. Buyers dislike asking for pricing — a media kit that forces a conversation before revealing rates loses deals to competitors who are transparent.
Example tiering:
- Presenting Sponsor — Highest visibility, exclusivity in category, naming rights in title, multiple touchpoints across channels, custom content integration. Price: $X/month or $Y per episode/issue.
- Featured Partner — Mid-tier placement, specific channel integration, standard ad format, no category exclusivity. Price: $X.
- Supporting Partner — Lowest tier, single mention, standardized placement. Price: $X.
Specify exactly what each package includes: number of mentions, placement position (pre-roll vs. mid-roll), word count for newsletter placements, social media posts included, logo placement, link in show notes, and exclusivity.
Slide 7: Custom Opportunities
What you offer beyond standard packages:
- Dedicated content episodes or newsletters
- Live event sponsorship
- Email list access
- Product review or integration
- Webinar or virtual event co-production
- Co-branded content series
Custom packages command premium pricing but require a longer lead time. Specify typical timelines for custom content production.
Slide 8: Testimonials
Three to five quotes from past sponsors about results and the working relationship. Specific testimonials citing measurable outcomes outperform generic praise.
Slide 9: Contact and Next Steps
Contact name, email, and response time commitment. Include a link to a booking calendar or a one-pager on your production calendar and available slots.
Common Media Kit Mistakes
Vanity metrics without engagement data. Total followers without engagement rates is the single most common mistake. A 500,000-follower account with 0.3% engagement is less valuable to a brand than a 50,000-follower account with 6% engagement.
Out-of-date data. A media kit with 2022 metrics presented in 2026 immediately signals disorganization. Update metrics quarterly at minimum.
No pricing. Forcing every conversation to start with "what's your budget?" wastes time and positions you as a vendor without confidence in your rates.
Typography and design inconsistency. A media kit is itself an audition for your ability to represent a brand. Poor design is a signal.
