Healthcare Technology Company Presentation Template

Selling into healthcare is different from selling into any other industry. Your buyer is simultaneously worried about patient outcomes, regulatory compliance, IT security, physician adoption, and budget cycles that run 18 months ahead of the current fiscal year. A health tech presentation that does not address all of these concerns simultaneously will stall.

This guide covers the four core presentation formats health tech companies use at different stages of the sales and fundraising cycle.

Hospital and Health System Sales Deck

The hospital sales deck is typically used in a meeting with a clinical informatics team, a CMO, or a digital health committee. It must do something most vendor decks fail to do: put clinical outcomes before product features.

Slide 1: The Clinical Problem

Open with the problem in clinical terms — not technology terms. "Medication reconciliation errors affect 1 in 5 hospital discharges and cost $17 billion annually in preventable readmissions" is a clinical framing. "Our AI platform improves medication management workflows" is a technology framing. Start with the problem the clinician cares about, not the solution you are selling.

Slide 2: Why Current Solutions Fall Short

Explain specifically what EHR vendors, manual processes, or competing solutions cannot do. Be precise: "Epic's medication reconciliation module flags 80% of discrepancies but generates enough alert fatigue that nurses override 34% of warnings" is specific. "Current solutions are inadequate" is not.

Slide 3: Your Approach

Describe your solution in clinical workflow terms. How does it fit into the existing care delivery process? What does the nurse, pharmacist, or physician actually do differently? Where does your technology sit in the workflow and what does it replace or augment?

Slide 4: Clinical Evidence

This is the slide that separates health tech companies that will get purchased from those that will not. Show peer-reviewed evidence, IRB-approved study results, or at minimum rigorous real-world evidence from prior implementations. Include sample size, study methodology, and primary outcome metrics. If you do not have published evidence, describe what validation studies you have run and their results.

Slide 5: Integration and Implementation

Healthcare IT teams will kill a deal that does not address EHR integration, HL7/FHIR compliance, downtime protocols, and implementation timeline before it reaches a contract. Address these proactively. Show your standard integration architecture, your typical go-live timeline, and your training and support model.

Slide 6: Customer Results

Describe two or three customer implementations with specific outcome data: reduction in readmission rates, time saved per nurse per shift, reduction in medication errors per 1,000 discharges. Named health systems are more credible than unnamed ones; get permission to use names where possible.

Slide 7: ROI Analysis

Build a simple model using the prospect's own patient volume to estimate their specific financial benefit. A hospital with 200,000 annual discharges and a 1% readmission reduction at $15,000 average readmission cost generates $30M in savings. Ground every number in a citable source.

Payer Partnership Proposal

When presenting to a health plan or insurance company, the framing shifts from clinical outcomes to cost of care and member outcomes.

Opening: The Cost Problem

Ground the presentation in the specific cost category the payer cares about — ED utilization, specialty pharmaceutical spend, chronic disease management, or whatever your solution addresses.

Your Value Proposition for Payers

Payers care about: PMPM cost reduction, quality measure improvement (HEDIS, Stars), member retention, and provider network efficiency. Map your solution's benefits explicitly to these metrics.

Contract Structure Options

Payers are sophisticated buyers who will want performance-based contracting. Present two or three contract structures: a fee-for-service option, a shared savings model, and a capitated or PMPM model. Show how the economics work under each.

Clinical Validation Presentation

When presenting to a clinical advisory board, IRB, or at a medical conference, the format shifts to research standards.

Cover: study design and methodology, patient population characteristics, primary and secondary endpoints, statistical analysis approach, results with confidence intervals, limitations, and implications for clinical practice. Do not oversell results — clinical audiences will discount findings that appear overstated.

Investor Pitch Deck for Health Tech

Health tech investors evaluate your company on three dimensions beyond the standard startup metrics: clinical evidence quality, regulatory pathway, and reimbursement strategy.

Market Sizing: Use payer spend data or CMS claims data to size the market from the bottom up. "The total addressable market for post-acute care coordination software is $4.2B, based on 35 million annual Medicare post-acute discharges at an estimated $120 PMPM intervention cost" is investable. "$500B healthcare IT market" is not.

Regulatory Pathway: Be explicit about FDA classification (if applicable), current regulatory status, and the path to full clearance. Investors who have been burned by unexpected regulatory hurdles will ask.

Reimbursement: Explain how your solution gets paid for at scale. Is it a hospital budget item, a CPT code, a PMPM payment, or a shared savings arrangement? The answer determines whether you have a business model or a pilot program.

Common Health Tech Presentation Mistakes

Leading with technology instead of clinical outcomes. No CMO cares that you use a transformer model. They care about readmission rates.

Weak evidence. Pilot data from 50 patients in one site is not clinical validation. Either run rigorous studies or present your evidence with appropriate caveats.

Ignoring implementation complexity. Any health system that has survived an EHR go-live will ask hard questions about implementation. Answer them before they are asked.

Underestimating the buying committee. Hospital technology decisions involve clinical informatics, IT security, finance, legal, and clinical leadership. Your deck needs to address every stakeholder's concerns.
