How to Create a Fundraising Gala Sponsorship Deck

Corporate sponsorship conversations require a different mindset than donor cultivation. Donors give because they believe in the mission. Corporate sponsors invest because they get something back — brand visibility, employee engagement, community reputation, client entertainment, or alignment with their CSR commitments. Your sponsorship deck needs to speak both languages: the emotional case for why your mission matters, and the business case for why sponsoring your gala is a good investment.

Know the Sponsor's Motivation Before the Meeting

Before presenting to any corporate prospect, research their giving history, their community presence, and their stated CSR priorities. A financial services firm trying to build brand trust with middle-income families has different sponsorship goals than a tech company trying to attract diverse engineering talent. The best gala sponsorship decks are customized — they show how this specific sponsorship serves this specific company's goals.

Slide Structure

Slide 1: Mission and community impact. One to two slides establishing who you serve and what your organization has accomplished. Keep this brief and visual — the corporate sponsor knows less about you than a major donor prospect would. Lead with the most compelling impact statistic and a photograph that captures your work.

Slide 2: The gala — event overview. Date, venue, format, expected attendance, and audience profile. Corporate sponsors want to know who will be in the room: community leaders, elected officials, business executives, major donors. The prestige and reach of your guest list is a key selling point.

Slide 3: Sponsorship tiers. A clear table or graphic showing two to four sponsorship levels, their investment amounts, and the benefits at each level. Classic structure: Presenting Sponsor, Gold, Silver, Bronze — or custom names tied to your mission. Be specific about what each level delivers.

Slide 4: Sponsorship benefits in detail. Expand on what sponsors receive: logo placement (where and how prominently), speaking opportunities, table seats and their monetary value, social media mentions, website recognition, inclusion in printed materials, and any pre-event or post-event opportunities. The more concrete the benefits, the easier it is for a sponsor to evaluate the value.

Slide 5: Audience reach and media coverage. If your gala generates press coverage, social media content, or broadcast segments, quantify the impressions a sponsor receives. A gala that draws a local news crew and 5,000 social followers reaches a much larger audience than the 300 people in the room. Show the multiplier.

Slide 6: Employee engagement opportunities. Many corporate sponsors value the ability to engage their employees in community work. If your gala includes a volunteer opportunity, a team table purchasing process, or integration with a company's employee giving program, highlight this. HR and CSR teams are often the internal champions for event sponsorships.

Slide 7: Previous sponsors and partners. If you have returning corporate sponsors, name them (with permission). Peer companies sponsoring your event signals that this is a legitimate, valuable investment. A sponsor roster from your last gala also shows the company what peers and competitors are associated with your organization.

Slide 8: The ask and next steps. Name the specific sponsorship level you are recommending for this prospect and why it fits their goals. Include a deadline for decision to hold preferred placement, a contract signing process, and your contact information. End with a clear proposed next step: "I can send you the sponsorship agreement today, and we would need your logo and company description by [date] to ensure inclusion in the printed program."

Pricing Sponsorship Tiers

Price based on what you deliver, not what you think a company will pay. Calculate the value of the event exposure — seat value, table value, impressions generated, speaking minutes — and price tiers so the benefits at each level exceed the cost to a rational sponsor. If your Presenting Sponsor package delivers $15,000 in table value, media reach, and brand placement, pricing it at $10,000 is a compelling value proposition.
